The third novel in the dragons series starts with David off in the series, but can leave new readers confused since there's barely any introduction or explanation. It just dives into the action so it really helps to read the earlier books first. It also feels like it's supposed to be the end of a series that has been changed to let the author write more dragon stories.

While a bit confusing for new readers, Fire Star is a treat for series fans. It will leave you craving more of David, Zanna, the Pennykettle dragons and the mysterious... well, you'll have to read it to find out.
