What has huge trolls, creepy zombies, brave knights and crazy combat action? Its not The Lord of the Rings. Its Mage Knight and its all about fantasy battles. Check out this hot new game.
Mage Knight is all about cool, little, plastic warriors battling for supremacy. It's a miniature figure game with trolls, orcs, knights, fantasy warriors to get all your faves. All your troops are on little round dials that have their ratings - attack, defense, speed and special powers. The dials keep track of the attack, defense, speed and special powers so you don't have to worry about it.
You begin with a starter pack of figs. Each figure is a collectible, plastic warrior who's worth points - the more points, the tougher the troop. You and a buddy make groups worth the same number of points and do battle to see who's the master of strategy.
The coolest thing about Mage Knight is how cheap and easy it is. Some games are super complex, expensive and you have to paint your troops before you can use them (like Warhammer.) Mage Knight is ready-to-go, right out of the box - your troopers are pre-painted and the rules are totally easy to learn.
Mage Knight isn't perfect - some warriors are flimsy and can break if you're not careful. Also, most troops can't move and attack, they have to move, then stand around for a turn before they can attack. But everything else is pure goodness.
awesome news, but the best news is that with the new rules, troops can move and attack all at once. This solves the problem of moving a warrior up to the enemy and then getting bashed in the head before you can unleash the smackdown!
