Which guitarist left a popular rock band, which cowboys rounded up tunes for a new CD and what are the ladies of Destinys Child planning to do in the next couple of years.
Garth Brooks is set to release his first new CD in four years. Scarecrow, will be Garth's eighth album and is scheduled to hit stores November 13, 2001. "At the end of last year I made a commitment to Capitol that I would try to bring them one more album," Garth says of the follow up to 1997's Sevens. "This is the result of that effort, a real labor of love, that I'm proud to hold up next to all of our previous releases."
The first single, Wrapped Up In You, has already been released to radio. Garth has hinted that Scarecrow could be his last album but he hasn't hung up his saddle and spurs yet.
Destiny's Child are each planning on releasing solo projects at different times in the next year and a half. This way the girls won't be in competition and they can pursue film and TV projects when they have the time. Michelle Williams is planning to have a gospel disc ready for early next year, according to the group's manager Mathew Knowles. (Ya, he's Beyonce's daddy.)
Beyonce Knowles could be starring opposite Mike Myers in Austin Powers 3: Goldmember as the female lead. She is in negotiations for the role, according to The Hollywood Reporter. She will also begin work on her solo project, which is due out next fall. And last but not least, Kelly Rowland's CD should be ready sometime in early 2003. Until then, Kelly plans to make some TV appearances starting with a guest spot on the Nickelodeon show, Taina. Kelly's episode will be shot in early December, 2001.
