Lea Marie is a powerhouse singer-songwriter who can also act and dance. She's set to release her self-titled debut album in fall 2008. Meet Lea Marie!
Sindy: Tell me about how you started as a performer. What are your first memories of singing or dancing?
Lea Marie: My first memory of singing was when I was three years old living in Disney songs.
Sindy: Who were some entertainers you looked up to when you were first getting into the business?
Lea Marie: When I first started getting into the idols were Hilary Duff, Mandy Moore, Britney Spears, and Madonna.
Sindy: You've been compared to a lot of young pop stars, how do you feel about that?
Lea Marie: Being compared to a lot of young pop stars is good and bad. Good because it is a wonderful thing to have comparisons between myself and other write all of their own material, both the music and the lyrics.
Sindy: What do you think is your biggest strength as a performer? What do you have to work on?
Lea Marie: I think my biggest strength as a performer is my versatility. I can sing and play the dance to tracks to some of my original songs.
Sindy: What is your favorite song to perform?
Lea Marie: When you are a songwriter, your favorite song is always the last song you wrote. So my favorite song is constantly on rotation.
Sindy: Who would you love to work with in the future?
Lea Marie: I would love to do a pop dance duet with Justin Timberlake.
Sindy: What do you like to do when you're not rehearsing or performing?
Lea Marie: My favorite activities during my free time are movies with my friends, and hitting the shopping mall afterwards.
Sindy: How's your summer so far? What are you working on right now?
Lea Marie: My summer is going great because this is the time when I can work on my music at full speed. So far this summer, I have written and re-written many songs old and new. I also finished an intensive week of songwriting camp and visiting performing venues every night.
