Arizona Diamondbacks for the top spot in the NL West. It is still unclear who the Dodgers will face in the first round of the playoffs. Depending on how the season ends, they will play either the Mets, Phillies or Cubs.

The hero of last year's summer, Plaxico signed a five-year, $35 million contract extension. Burress' could lose up to $400,000 in lost salary and fines as a result of the suspension. On Thursday, Plaxico's agent Drew Rosenhaus claimed the absence was due to a family emergency and they plan to appeal the decision.

Golden State Warriors guard Monta Ellis is in some hot water over a little fib he told. Over the summer, the rising young star told the team that he injured his injury and conducted an investigation. Ellis fessed up and itted that he hurt his ankle riding on a moped - which is on the list of vehicles he is not allowed to ride. His violation of his contract could cost him his $66 million. However, it looks like the Warriors will keep Monta, although you can expect him to receive a hefty fine!
