About 150 people in Chile had to leave their homes for the second year running after a volcano had lain dormant for 9,000 years before it roared back to life last May.

Thousands of people left the area as ash covered the town and choked the river, causing volcano is 10km from the town.

Deputy Interior Minister Patricio Rosende said experts had seen an increase in the size of a column of ash and smoke. He said the volcano was a "time-bomb.”
