Amelia Atwater-Rhodes wrote her first book, In The Forests of the Night, at age 13! Check out her take on the world of vampires and witches!

Author: Amelia Atwater-Rhodes

Do you believe in twin brother) and a fear of the damned. Unfortunately for Risika, she is one of the damned now.

In the Forests of the Night jumps back and forth between present day and the 1700s in order to weave a tale of how Rachel became Risika. It isn't like other novels that are hard to follow when they jump around. This one tells you clearly which time you are in and the chapters are short and packed with details. (Stuff, you actually want to know.)

You can't help but become sympathetic to Risika and the big chip she has on her shoulder over Aubrey - a vampire even older than her who has been a jerk to her since the beginning. He also helped destroy her family.

When you read In the Forests of the Night and you're totally digging it, keep in mind that this girlie was only 13 when she wrote it. It makes it even cooler - and even more eerie.
