Go Skateboarding Day: June 21 165q2g
Go skateboarder and artist Lee Matasi envisioned and began creating before he died. Lee was shot and killed in a senseless act of violence in 2005, but lives on through LeeSide.
The large mass of skateboarders will skate a four-mile route through Vancouver with a few stops along the way, including scenic photo stops, water breaks and a giant BBQ and skate session at the end.

Wild in the Streets is a global movement happening in over 25 countries and Vancouver is the lead location since the entire Emerica team will be in the city for the event to the thousands of skateboarders from all over the world on their jaunt across Vancouver. Who: Thousands of skateboarders Andrew Reynolds, Heath Kirchart, Leo Romero, Jerry Hsu, Bryan Herman, Kevin “Spanky” Long, Ed Templeton, Aaron Suski and Braydon Szafranski.
When: Sunday, June 21, 2009, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Where: Meet at the Downtown Plaza: 750 Pacific Boulevard, Vancouver B.C.
Why: To raise awareness about Lee Matasi, to raise money to help LeeSide skatepark continue to grow, to the Vancouver skateboarding community and to have fun skateboarding on Go Skateboarding Day. Emerica will be selling tees and all funds will go to the construction of new obstacles for LeeSide.
