The second round of So You Think You Can Dance auditions is underway, and the Arizona dancers are bringing the heat. Like all cities, Arizona offers some fabulous talent and crazy stunts.

The auditions kick off with a duet from Brandon “Shorty” Smallwood and Demetrio “Biggie" Bargas. The two pals drove 19 hours from Oklahoma to Arizona just to audition. And even though their dancing wasn’t up to snuff, the judges cut them a break and sent them to choreography.

Next, the tears. Next dancers Katie Muth and Ellie Soto followed Sasha’s lead and collected their tickets to Vegas.

Same-sex dance couple Jacob Jason and Willem de Vries moved the judges with their bravery and strong performance. While their lines and technique were impressive, the judges wanted to see if these inspirational dancers could move as elegantly with female partners. Sure enough, choreography proved simple for these two men, and they each collected their tickets to Vegas.

Allison Becker is a true inspiration. This 21 year old dancer suffers from Spinal Meningitis, a disease that could have taken her life, but instead has left her music, and has become and extraordinary dancer. Her talent and sheer will moved judge Mary Murphy to tears.
