Diary of a Wimpy Kid started as an online cartoon and Jeff Kinney’s hilariously painful stories were soon made into a popular series of illustrated novels like geeky heroes to keep you from giving up on middle school altogether. The pacing can get a bit slow and sometimes the gross-outs get too gross, but overall Diary of a Wimpy Kid is actually pretty wholesome! And if there’s a lesson to be learned it’s that the really cool kids don’t care what the other kids think.
