American figure skater Evan Lysacek took home the Gold Medal in the Men's Figure Skating Free Skate on Thursday night, upsetting defending champion Evgeni Plushenko of Russia, who had come out of retirement just to defend his medal. But Evan dashed Evgeni’s dreams of two Olympic Gold Medals after he performed his near-perfect skate, capped off with a beautiful double axle. This Gold Medal makes Evan the first American man to score first place in figure skating since 1988.

Team USA had some huge success on the Women’s Half Pipe today, with Hannah Teter winning silver and Kelly Clark taking the bronze. But the real story was Australia's Torah Bright, who came back strong after falling on her first run in the finals to win the Gold Medal.

There’s no question that Hockey Nation - Canada. Trust us when we say, it will be a major upset if a) Canada doesn’t make it to the Gold Medal Game and b> doesn’t win the top prize in the end.

However, the guys on Team Canada dumped the puck into Switzerland’s net! But, while plenty of Canadians are celebrating this near-loss – we mean, win – plenty of others are hoping the game will serve as a major reality check for the Canadians, who need to get it together if they don’t want to disappoint millions of Canadian hockey fans.
