America's Got Talent Season 5 Episode 4 Recap 2m2z27

Jun 16, 2010

Day two of America’s Got Talent’s stop in New York City proved to be full of amazing talents…as well as some not so amazing talents.

Bad Hair Day ya4b

The show opened with Mary Ellen, a 74 year old hair resembled Sharron’s. Somehow Howie and Sharron saw something in this woman, but I don’t think it was potential. Yet they sent her to Vegas anyway.

We also saw an amazing assistant into a box and covered it with a curtain. The only thing visible was her hand, which continued to wave and hold a curtain. Grasso covered himself with the curtain as well and in only a second he and his assistant had switched places. Somehow the hand, which we thought was the assistant’s, didn’t even move! How? That’s for him to know, and for us to ponder forever.

Before the night was out, we witnessed more amazing talents like Eric, the 20 year old 1980’s dancers; and Chipps Cooney, the self-proclaimed “illusionist.” And who could forget 10 year old Nina and her dance crew. Nina performed the song Mercy. She has a good voice, but it wasn’t mature or polished enough to put her through to Vegas. But with a few voice lessons, she’ll definitely be a star.

Gabourey Sidibe’s Mother 3g1q1

The showstopper of the night was undoubtedly Alice Tan Ridley, mother of Gabourey Sidibe (the star of Precious). Alice subway. When she sang At Last, she blew the judges away. She deserves to be signed. This woman could go all the way.
