Question by Brian,
We will be running a lot more in gym class this year and I was wondering I should wear a jockstrap or compression shorts to class. Which would work better or could I wear both? Also should I wear a protective cup too?
Hey Brian,
That’s great that you are running more this year in running shoes and then you’re set.
Compression Shorts 6a6e6u
Compression Shorts have many functions and they are very good for certain athletes in certain sports. Here’s a quick list of the benefits of Compression Shorts:
- Keep muscles warm
- Prevent muscles from straining
- Prevent chaffing and rashes from other equipment
- Protection when sliding
- Comfort
Protective Cup g6a6v
You definitely don’t need a protective cup when running in gym class. The protective cup is actually something that could be uncomfortable when you are running. If you are playing sports like football or baseball, then you might want to wear a cup, in which case you might also want to wear some compression shorts to prevent the cup from irritating your skin.

Let your teacher know that you are interested in wearing a protective cup. Teachers always have a schedule of when they will be playing certain sports. Once you get a schedule of what’s going on, it will be easier for you to decide if you need to wear a protective cup on days you play sports.
