reach their final destination, Rio. There are three minigames at each spot on the map. If you are winning after the three games you can progress onto the next city (aka level). If you are not in first place you will need to start the level over again in order to progress. What makes Story Mode so entertaining is that the minigames reflect the city you are currently in. For example, when players are in cold Moose Lake they participate in a hockey game, climb a frozen roof and have a snow fight.

If you don’t want to put in the time commitment that Story Mode requires, you can play Party Mode, Carnival Wheel Mode or Carnival Dance Mode.
In Party Mode, players compete against either the computer or their friends and family in random minigames. In between rounds players can earn extra points by correctly answering quiz questions about the movie Rio.
In Carnival Wheel Mode, players compete in 12 rounds. Each player takes turns spinning a giant carnival wheel – whichever game the wheel lands on is the game that gets played next. The amount of points that a player wins each round is determined by a smaller wheel that is spun before the game is played.
In Carnival Dance Mode, players need to form the longest dance line by playing minigames. The line grows longer every time the player wins a game.

The best part of Rio for Wii is that you have so many choices of characters. The game features six different playable characters: bring Eva, Pedro, Nico and the rest of the gang back to life. If you aren’t familiar with the Rio story you will still enjoy many aspects of the game – and might even be convinced to buy the movie too!
