The Top 48 of America’s Got Talent (Season 6, Episode 22) had their chance to shine. Next, the Top 12 contestants from the YouTube Auditions hit the stage on August 10, 2011, hoping for a shot at a million dollars.
First up, TNC Elite performed a clogging routine with a modern twist. Howie thought it seemed like a tap dancing recital. They’re act wasn’t grand enough for the show. Next, illusionist Brett Daniels performed a tribute to Marilyn Monroe. Overall, the judges liked the premise, but the middle portion was too slow, earning him a buzz from Piers.
Gabe Rocks - a bulldog that skateboards, rides wooden horses and can impersonate Piers with his buzz-happy hand - impressed Sharon and Howie. Piers, naturally, thought the act was pointless. Aeon, a tumbling group, won votes from Howie, although Sharon found their tricks too repetitive.

Breena Bell was a cute little dancer/Bruno Mars. All the judges loved him, and thought he showed promise in this competition.
Piers loved 14-year-old Beth Ann Robinson’s dance routine. But he questioned whether a solo dance act could win a show like AGT. Next, Gymkana, an acrobatics team, turned up the heat. Sharon couldn’t believe they weren’t professional performers.
Kalani Basketball Freestyle consisted of one teenager performing tricks with a s and dark dance moves. Piers thought they had promise in their audition tape, and he believed that they lived up to their potential on stage.

Matt Wilhelm mixed the same black light style as Team iLuminate and last season’s Fighting Gravity with bike tricks. The judges seemed overly enthusiastic about the “originality” of his act. They even compared him to Jackie Evancho. (I don’t think so!) Last, Powerhouse - the show choir that inspired the Glee - made Piers feel “happy.” Howie, however, thought that Glee set the bar and Powerhouse didn’t make the cut.
The four acts moving onto the semi-finals are Kevin Colis, Gymkana, Matt Wilhelm, and by the judges' choice, Beth Ann Robinson. However, Sharon, who voted for the West Springfield Dance Team, invited them to return in the wild card episode next week.
