Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, which featured four different Spider-Men working towards the same goal. That game was not perfect, but it was pretty good. This year, Activsion has followed it up with Spider-Man: Edge of Time. Unfortunately, although two Spider-Man characters return in this year's game, Edge of Time isn't even half as good as last year's Shattered Dimension.

The story of Spider-Man: Edge of Time involves the original Spider-Man, Peter Parker, and Spider-Man 2099, Miguel O'Hara. The evil scientist Walker Sloan travels back in time and manages to create an alternate timeline where he rules with an iron fist. In this time, Sloan has managed to brainwash Anti-Venom and uses him to kill the original Spider-Man. However, Spider-Man 2099 has also traveled back in time and is keen to stop Sloan and save Peter Parker to restore order to the timelines.

The gameplay in Spider-Man: Edge of Time mostly involves exploring the laboratories of Alchemax, the evil company founded by Walker Sloan.
