It was supposed to be a nice, relaxing family kite and uses it as a parasail. But when the parasail gets caught in a gust of wind, he and the chipmunks are pulled overboard. Terrified, Dave tries save them, but when Ian intercepts, they both wind up going overboard as well.

Separately, the chipmunks, Dave and Ian wash up on a deserted island. Alvin and his pals meet a woman who’s been stranded on the island for so many years that she now talks to a group of athletic balls as though they’re her friends. Meanwhile, Simon is bit by a toxic castaway can’t act, and after a while, the chipmunks’ voices start to grate on you. If you’re humming and hawing over whether or not to see this movie, we suggest that you wait for the DVD.
