Robotech: Battlecry means one thing - giant robot combat for the Playstation 2, Xbox and Gamecube! There's something just plain fun about stomping through a city kicking the crud out of alien Zentraedi invaders with your giant, transformable robot.
Whether you're playing Robotech: Battlecry cuz you're a fan of the Robotech anime TV show and toys, or if you're just looking for a solid action game, you're in luck. You take the part of Jack Archer, ace pilot, and defend Earth from the alien Zentraedi invaders. You pilot a Veritech fighter which can become a jet fighter for aerial battles, transform to a "Battloid" robot for ground missions or become a half-plane, half-robot "Guardian" for in between levels. Each Veritech mode has different moves you can use against your enemies - from high-flying rolls to decoy flares and more. The variety of modes in Robotech: Battlecry is awesome, but learning all the controls is a pain.
Once you have the controls mastered and the game gets rolling you'll be able to enjoy the cel-shaded graphics, voice acting by the people from the original TV show and, of course, the huge battles in air, space and on land. Playing Robotech: Battlecry is like being right in the middle of an anime show where you're the hero. Everything in this video game comes right out of the Robotech TV series and, apart from some fuzzy sound effects, is really well done.
Unfortunately, since Robotech: Battlecry follows the TV show, the plot is pretty basic and you can't change it. Even with that problem, Robotech: Battlecry is still a solid game with tons of action.
