There’s something awesome about leaving the phones and TV at home and spending time with friends and family around the campfire telling stories and late night treat to replace the been-there-done-that s’mores.  Enjoy your outdoor adventure!

Grilled Banana Boats 5u2sp

Ingredients:

  • 1 banana
  • 1/8 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/8 cup small marshmallows
  • Other toppings you might like (toffee chips, caramel pieces, berries, sprinkles, coconut, peanut butter, cereal etc.)

Instructions:

  1. Cut banana lengthwise and stuff with marshmallows
  2. Stuff with chocolate chips and any other toppings
  3. Wrap banana in tin foil
  4. Place on hot coals or near campfire.
  5. Cook banana for five minutes, unwrap and enjoy!

Orange Muffins 76n23

Ingredients:

  • 6 oranges
  • 2 (7 ounce) packages blueberry muffin mix (or any flavor)
  • ½ cup fresh blueberries

Instructions:

  1. Cut oranges in half
  2. Scoop out the orange segments and set aside to enjoy later
  3. Reserve the hollow orange shells
  4. Prepare the muffin mix according to the package directions
  5. Add fresh blueberries to the batter
  6. Fill the orange peel cups half full of batter
  7. Loosely wrap each one with heavy duty aluminum foil
  8. Place in hot coals, making sure that the batter side stays up
  9. Cook 6-10 minutes until muffins are cooked

Campfire Stuffed Apples 1t515b

Ingredients:

  • 4 apples
  • 1 cup of brown sugar
  • ½ cup rolled oats
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • Cinnamon
  • Nutmeg

Instructions:

  1. Core out the top half of an apple.
  2. Mix brown sugar, oats and spices in a small bowl
  3. Divide brown sugar mixture between the apples
  4. Place butter on top of sugar
  5. Wrap in foil and place in coals, candy-side up,
  6. Cook for about 15 minutes.
  7. Take out of coals and enjoy!
