For the vast majority of the game, you will be playing as Princess Merida, who is an excellent archer. The left analog stick moves Merida while the right analog stick fires her bow. This means you can shoot in any direction at any time, which comes in handy when enemies attack from all sides. When enemies get close, you can use Merida's sword. And when things get overwhelming, Merida can also use her magic charms to blast enemies.
As you progress through the game, you can get skill upgrades for Brave is a solid game. The default difficulty is good for young kids an the harder difficulty is challenging enough for experienced players. However, there is a lot of boring fights and, despite the minor minigames, the game is hardly worth playing through more than once. Definitely worth renting, especially if you are a fan of the movie.
