After you learn and mastered the songs in the game, you can take your guitar and plug it into a real amp and play to impress your friends and family! The game has already been out for the XBox 360 for almost a year, but now you can finally plug and play on your computer!

Rocksmith works with any guitar with a 1/4" output jack. You can buy the full packaged game, including a guitar, for $179. The guitar plugs into an adapter for the game console and all your strums and plucks are picked up by the game.
The game itself is designed to teach and train beginners. Anyone can pick up and play the game immediately, the difficulty is automatically adjusted by the game to suit your level. Most beginners will begin on a single string with the traditional five frets. Eventually you can advance to Dr. Mario and more.

A lot of the flaws from the original Rocksmith on the Xbox 360 have been fixed. You can now adjust your mastery by hand and you can also choose to remove notes and play songs from memory. Overall, however, Rocksmith is a great teaching program and does well to start players on the journey of becoming a guitarist.
