Anjulie Persaud grew up in Oakville, Ontario. Her parents are of Guyanese descent with their ancestry rooted in India. She is the youngest of four kids, and because there weren’t a lot of kids like her at school, she says she spent most of her time alone honing her writing skills.

Anjulie began writing songs as a teenager, and played percussion and sang back up vocals on The Vampire Diaries. “Boom” also peaked at number one on the U.S. Dance Charts!

Anjulie continued to make strides when she toured with B.o.B in the fall and winter of 2009-2010. Anjulie is working on her next international album, which features her hit tracks “You and I,” “Brand new Chick” and “Stand Behind the Music.” She was nominated for a Dance Recording of the Year Award in 2012 at the Juno Awards (which are like the Canadian Grammys).
