Ever since Sebastian told Carrie that they can't be together, things have been awkward between them. Carrie avoids Sebastian in the halls whenever she can. On Halloween, Carrie takes Walt to a costume party in Manhattan. They dress as Princess Diana and Prince Charles and wind up looking way overdressed compared to all the other skimpy costumes. Larissa tries to get them to do ecstacy, which was legal during that time in the 1980s. Not wanting to lose her head, Carrie drops the pill on the floor, but Walt takes it.

At the party, Carrie crushes on a cute boy who is actually crushing on Walt. Carrie spends most of the party caring for Larissa, who is ed out from taking far too many drugs. Meanwhile, Walt has an identity crisis. When the boy kisses him, Walt insists that he's straight. Upon returning home, he shows up at Maggie's house and the two of them sleep together.

Meanwhile, Mouse and Maggie attend Sebastian's cop during her relationship with Walt, blackmailed him into turning a blind eye to the underage drinking.

When Carrie gets home from New York City, she finds Sebstian sitting with a stoned Mouse on Carrie's front steps. Mouse can't go home to her strict parents, so she spends the night with Carrie. Seeing Sebastian caring for Mouse, Carrie realizes that maybe Sebastian isn't as selfish as she thought.
