It's hard not to pregnant when she is only 13. When it comes time for Squid to have her baby, Murray still doesn't leave the island to go with her to the hospital - he leaves that task to his wife Hannah. Years go by and Murray sticks to his same routine as the lightkeeper.

The Bottom Line y58e

The Lightkeeper's Daughter starts out with Squid returning home for the first time in three years, now 17. The story moves back and forth from the present to the past, unveiling all that has taken place on the remote island. Things in The Lightkeeper's Daughter never actually go the way you are hoping they will, but instead happen they way they would in real life, which can be frustrating. When you come to the last line in the story though, you'll feel like you have been apart of something very special.
