Inspired by a true story, The Sapphires is about three sassy and talented Aboriginal sisters and their cousin living their dream of performing on stage - but in a way they never expected. Set in Australia in 1968, The Sapphires takes place during the Vietnam War. Sisters Gail, Cynthia and Julie go into town to perform country music in a local talent competition and have to deal with the harsh reality of racism (at this time in romantic musical comedy that will tug on your heartstrings and make you want to jump for joy whenever the music starts playing.
