Jessica Lois Ware (Jessie to us) was born October 15th, 1984, and grew up in South London. Her family is Jewish, and although no one else in the family is a singer, they’re no strangers to the stage - her father John Ware is a BBC Reporter and her sister Hanna is an actress. When Jessie was growing she was inspired by the music of classic jazz and pop artists like Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald and performed in musicals at school.

Although she loved performing Jessie’s career took a sharp turn when she reached university, she decided to study to be a journalist (like her father) because she felt that her musical dreams were just that – dreams:
“I didn’t think it was ever going to be possible, it always broke my heart a bit. I couldn’t even do it as a past-time cause it made me feel too sick to only half-do it.”
That all changed when she got a phone call from an old friend, Jack Penate, who ed how great her voice was and wanted her to sing back-up vocals for a live BBC performance. It went so well that he took the singer on tour with him across America, where she met the people who would help her realize her dream of singing!

Teaming up with producer SBTRKT was the perfect move, a label immediately wanted to pick up the first song they created together, and the magic didn’t stop there. The first single to be released off her debut album was “Running,” and it immediately captivated listeners, for fans of artists like Adele or Florence Welch, Jessie Ware was an exciting new voice in music. Her second single “Wildest Moments” did even better and her debut album Devotion received glowing reviews from critics and fans alike!
