The best way to let your mom know you love and appreciate her this Mother's Day might be to let her have a few blissful hours to herself to relax while you get dinner on.
The first recipe below is for a gooey, cinnamony baked treat that mom can enjoy with a hot cup of tea and a good book.

- 2 cans of pre-made crescent rolls
- ½ cup maple syrup
- 1 tbsp butter
- 3 tbsps cinnamon
- 2tbsp white sugar

- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
- Spray 12 cup muffin tin with non-stick spray
- Open up both cans of crescent dough, and cut each triangle into 3 equal-sized pieces
- Roll each piece of dough into 3 small, equal-size balls (Hint! You should get 24 balls per pack of crescent rolls
- Combine the sugar and 2 tbsp of cinnamon in a small bowl
- Toss the dough balls in the cinnamon sugar mix until the balls are well coated
- Next, melt the butter in microwave-safe bowl for about 30 seconds, (or until melted)
- Add the syrup and 1 tbsp of cinnamon to the melted butter, stir, and set aside
- Place four balls into each individual muffin tin
- Pour the butter-syrup mixture over each muffin tin, until the dough balls are almost covered in the syrup mixture
- Bake for 15- 20 minutes, or until a caramelized crust forms on the top of each little mommy bread.
- Remove from the oven, and let cool for about 15 minutes
- Use a knife to loosen the edges and serve on a pretty plate while still warm

- 2 cups ground beef, chicken or turkey (Hint! Turkey would be most lean and low fat option)
- 2 cloves minced garlic
- 1 tbsp chili powder
- 2 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp each salt and pepper
- 4 green chopped green onions
- 1/4 cup chili sauce
- 8 taco shells (hard or soft)
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 2 small chopped tomatoes
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup light sour cream
- 1 small avocado , peeled, pitted and chopped (Hint! Leaving the pit in the avocado or guacamole will help keep it from browning as quickly

- Heat oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat
- Add meat, garlic, chili powder, oregano, salt and pepper and mix
- Stir in green onions and chili sauce
- Scrape into serving bowl
- Meanwhile, heat taco shells in the oven (for hard tacos shells) or microwave (for soft tortillas)
- Serve taco meat mixture with bowls of sliced lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, sour cream and avocado for everyone to build their own tacos
