Celebrated on the third Sunday of every June, Father's Day is a Mother's Day in Spokane, Washington at the YMCA in 1910 by Sonora Smart Dodd. Her dad was a Civil War veteran who raised six children as a single parent. After Sonora heard about Mother's Day, she thought fathers should have a similar day to honor them and voila - Father's Day was born.
