film that follows the story of one ambitious and mischievous squirrel, Surly (voiced by comedian Will Arnett), and his rodent BFF Buddy, who plan a nut store heist that will put all other heist to shame during a city-wide food shortage. In the midst of this culinary caper, these two bushy-tailed besties find themselves in the middle of a larger plot.

At the start of the film we find out that due to his loner tendencies, Surly has been banned from the Katherine Heigl) and Grayson (Brendan Fraser), the squirrels and their friends become caught in the middle of a human plot to raid a bank - using the store as a front.

Without question the highlight of The Nut Job is the "nutty" puns to keep the story going, and the "Gangnam style" bit during the credits is bound to produce a few eye rolls from older viewers.That being said, the movie is fairly enjoyable if you're looking for something the whole family can watch, especially younger siblings. It's hard not to root for an underdog, and everyone loves a good heist story, right?

Pixar and Disney have set the bar pretty high for animated films in the last few years (Despicable Me anyone?), so while The Nut Job is worth checking out, it's not at the top of the list for great animated comedies for us - but you'll have to decide for yourself!
