The worlds biggest shooter returns to bring a focus on space combat, tight gameplay, and zombies. Check out Kidzworlds PS4 game review of this titan of a game, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.

franchise that gets as much praise as condemnation and sometimes both sides of that coin are right on the money. I'm happy to report that Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is one of my favorite entries in the series since the original Call of Duty: Black Ops. While the multiplayer struggles to hit the highs of the fantastic campaign and outright awesome Zombies mode this is a great package and some of the best bang for your buck that you'll find in a new game this year. Oh, and the Legacy Edition - which was provided to us by Activision - returns us to the original Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare with a remaster of the game that started it all, and it's still some of the best gameplay around.

Post-Modern Warfare 3r2vb

The past few Call of Duty games have given a very futuristic vibe - i.e Black Ops 3, Advanced Warfare - but this game reaches for the stars a little more literally. After the death of the captain of the Retribution, a spaceship designed for planetary travel, Lieutenant Reyes becomes the acting captain. Story takes some interesting and the end of the game has some weight, even if its themes aren't exactly subtle. And while Kit Harrington's villain is pretty badly written (actually I didn't really like the whole antagonist organization) your allies really carry some great character. Your partner, Lieutenant Salter, is well written and intrinsic to the story and doesn't feel like the developers decided to just throw a girl in there and your robotic pal Ethan may be one of my favorite game characters of the year.

The game controls as well as you'd expect from this series, and Most gamers will pick up Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare for the multiplayer and it feels fine this time around. While I really like the emphasis on new combat rigs which changes your special moves and mobility everything else feels pretty standard. Shooting feels good, but some of those maps are pretty substandard - both visually and in of design. Frontline is a new mode that's Team Deathmatch where you can't attack the enemy as easily on their side of the map, it's a small but noticeable and welcome change.

Oh and it's pretty. Like really, really, really pretty.

While multiplayer is pretty run-of-the-mill for the franchise, Zombies is out of this world good. The premise of this game sounds like an internet fever dream. Here's how I described it to a friend of mine:

"You get sucked into a horror movie and play as a Jock, Freddy Krueger girl, nerd, or run-DMC look alike and fight through horror movies to get revenge on the evil director that kidnapped you. And they'll release more movies/levels as dlc but the first one is an amusement park that has different sections like aliens, cowboys, and more. And the entire park plays 80's music like "tainted love."

Forgiving that massive run-on sentence, I think that's a pretty apt description. It's insane and a lot of fun. Zombies is full of secrets, everywhere I look there's something new to see. The game is simply about surviving waves of Zombies and living as long as you can, but there are so many small things that add to your experience. Hunting for guns, souvenir coins, special weapons, traps, and more keeps the game fresh and fun. I love this mode.

The campaign and Zombies modes highlights make up for the stumbles of the stagnant multiplayer, which isn't bad but pales in comparison to the other two pillars of the game. Throw in the fantastic return to the original Modern Warfare, which is included in the Legacy Edition, and you have one of the best shooter packages of the year. Worth, every penny.
