Treecko - a Grass Type Pokemon. Torchic - a Fire Type Pokemon who evolves into a Fire/Fighting Type Pokemon. Mudkip - a Water Type Pokemon who evolves into a Water/Ground Type Pokemon. In the Pokemon Ruby game you should choose Mudkip because it can defend against fire very well. In the Pokemon Sapphire game, grab Treecko because he is strong against water. Treecko will be weak later in the game, though, so make sure you train other Pokemon in Pokemon Sapphire!
