With seven long months of regular season play under their collective belts, it's finally time for the NHL to start playing the games that count. That also means that it's time to skate out onto thin ice and make this year's Stanley Cup predictions. But, before that, lets take a look at the highs and lows of the 2002-2003 NHL Season.

In the Eastern Conference, the New York Rangers once again proved that money doesn't necessarily buy love, or success, while the Ottawa Senators proved that you can be successful without any money at all. In the Western Conference, Dallas and Detroit continued to win despite losing team leaders to playoff contenders.

With a little more than a week left in the schedule, it looks like the team to beat in the Eastern Conference is the Ottawa Senators. Every other team in the east can be, and will be, beaten. Out west it's anybody's guess with Detroit, Dallas, Lord Stanley's mug. Since it can't be an all-western final, let's go with Ottawa versus Dallas, and let the pucks fall where they may.
The Blues will win the Stanley Cup and play New Jersey in the finals to win.
