When she was 20, Aleisha Cline gave up traditional alpine skiing and moved into the newly developing sport of speed skiing. In speed skiing, skiers race down incredibly steep slopes, using aerodynamically designed skis. It's the world's fastest non-motorized sport and one of the World Freesking Championships and a first place finish at the 24 Hours of Aspen Ski Relay.

At the 2004 Winter X Games in Aspen, Colorado, Aleisha Cline had to settle for a silver medal in the Skier X, after being upset by Karin Huttary, of Austria. "It was a great race with a lot of pushing and shoving at the beginning. You couldn't ask for a better race," said Cline. "I would have liked to have gotten gold, but I can share."
