Jim Carrey stars as Count Olaf in the movie, Lemony Snickets A Series Of Unfortunate Events. Check out pictures and Kidzworlds review of this kids movie.
Violet, Klaus and Sunny Baudelaire try to elude the evil and conniving Count Olaf in the movie version of Lemony Snicket's A Series Of Unfortunate Events - The Bad Beginning, The Reptile Room and The Wide Window. While the unfortunate events in the movie are slightly different from the ones from the books, the film does a great job of creating the dark worlds of Lake Lachrymose, Uncle Monty's Reptile Room and the evil Count Olaf's mansion. At times the movie seems to drag, but there's enough misfortune, deadly plot twists and general despair to ensure it doesn't get stuck for too long. Jim Carrey is both funny and disturbing in playing the many different versions of Count Olaf and Emily Browning is great as the inventive and intelligent, Violet. You'll see a few frights from the likes of The Incredibly Deadly Viper and lots of laughs from Sunny's constant biting and Count Olaf's ongoing evil.
