The founder of LEGO was Ole Kirk Christiansen who began his LEGO making toy business in 1934.

The name LEGO comes from the two Danish words, "leg" and "godt", meaning "play well." LEGO also happens to mean "I put together" in Latin.

The longest LEGO structure ever was built in the shape of a massive millipede. This LEGO creature measured 3,451 feet (1052 m) long and used 2,477,140 bricks. It was put together by 20,000 children in Bangkok, Thailand on April 27, 2003.
