What do you do when a world full of super-valuable Rubium, and alien monsters you can use each have different attacks and powers, plus each one works best in certain terrain, so it really pays to plan your battles.

What's nice is that Nexus Ops is an easy to learn strategy board game that gets rockin' by turn two. And turn one takes about 30 seconds. It has plenty of power-ups to the fighting. The best part of Nexus Ops is the Secret Mission cards. You get one each turn and they can score you tons of points for doing weird stuff, so they keep everybody guessing about what's going to happen next.

The biggest bummer about Nexus Ops is that all the teams are identical. It would have been a lot cooler to have different monsters for each team. Some of the Secret Mission cards are super lame too, but you can trade 'em for bonus Rubium points so it's not too big a deal.

Nexus Ops has dragons, power-ups, strategy combat and the chance to stomp your friends into the ground with gross fungus aliens. More variety would be better, but Nexus Ops is still a solid game with lots of monster battles!
