My life has just taken a major turn of the [kwlink]disasterous[/kwlink] kind. In the space of two days, I've managed to get grounded, lose my allowance and become blacklisted by most of my teachers [kwlink]at school[/kwlink]. And it's all because of my laziness and a teacher who has a pretty closed-minded view of cheating.
You see, I had an essay due last week on a A Midsummer's Night's Dream which looked really, really good. It was 10 pages long, had a bunch of words I didn't really understand and seemed to be a guaranteed A. I printed it off and put on a fancy cover page with my name on and handed it in.
Well, my Midsummer's Night's Dream essay soon turned into a Mid-Winter's Afternoon Nightmare. On Monday, my English teacher, Ms. Friesen, asked to speak to me after class about my essay. Before I had a chance to wipe the beads of sweat that were pouring from my forehead, my teacher went after me like a pitbull. She began asking me all sorts of questions about my essay, which I couldn't answer, so I just kept telling her, "Those are interesting questions. Let me think about that for a while."
But she didn't give me much time to think about anything. Instead, she told me that "there was absolutely no way you could've written this essay" and informed me I'd be getting an "F", a meeting with the principal and a phone call home to the 'rents. She said she'd looked up the essay on serious anger.
So, I'm taking quite a bit of heat at the moment. My parents have grounded me indefinitely, my allowance is gone and I can't play video games or the play for real and written an original essay. All I can say is: massive downer.
Have you ever cheated on a test at school before? Did you get caught? .
Later,
Simon
