School is over and summer, I've put together a list of things to bring to make your family road trip a little easier.

  • Food - Parents never seem to get hungry when you get hungry, so make sure you bring along plenty of snacks on any road trip. Keep a large supply of potato chips, candy bars and drinks on hand to keep your hunger in check.
  • Tunes- If your parents are like my parents, they probably have the worst taste in music, so make sure you iPod is loaded and you've got extra batteries.
  • Games - I usually get bored of talking to my parents after about 10 minutes and my brother never has anything intelligent to talk about, so I'm other travel game I can get my hands on.
  • Books - School just ended, so you may not feel like opening a book for a while, but a good page-turner can make a long road trip seem much shorter. Click here for a look at books to check out for the summer.
  • Have you ever been on a long family road trip? What do you like the most? What do you hate the most?

I go on a road trip almost every summer with my brother that takes up all the space in the car and my mom and dad that listen to the news on the radio and nothing else but it. The most fun thing you can do is make signs that say honk if____ and write what ever you want. Me and my brother usually write some pretty nasty things but it's really funny when people actually honk. I usually bring a portable dvd player on the trip. If you're that desperate though and don't have one and are too cheap to buy one I guess you can bring a bunch of dolls to play with but only if you're extremely desperate and have nothing else to do. If you have younger siblings that cry and make a mess and throw their food at you going on the road trip take a piece of cardboard and stick it in betwwen you and them. Try bringging along your Ipod, cd player, mp3, etc. If you get sick very easily to bring extra clothes. Don't drink alot of fluids if your parents don't like stopping for bathroom breaks that often. I'm not saying dehydrate yourself but just don't drink 12 cans of soda and 6 bottles of water. Well that's about it so buh bye!
