Jean-Luc Bilodeau plays Josh Trager on the hit TV show feature film due out this fall. We catch up with this up-and-coming young actor!
Sindy: Kyle XY is back for season two in June. What's the show about, for people who don't know?
Jean-Luc Bilodeau: Well, in the first scene in the first episode we see Kyle - played by unraveling his mystery. In season two we're going to finally start finding out where he came from.
Sindy: And you play Josh Trager? Can you tell me a little about him?
Jean-Luc Bilodeau: Josh is the mischievous son of Nicole. Like any other 15 year-old boy he likes to pick on his sister, and play jokes. He's a clever kid and always has something to say. He's not a mean kid, he just likes to joke around.
Sindy: So how did you get this role?
Jean-Luc Bilodeau: I live in auditioning for it as well. We're always battling it out for parts - we're good friends - but we're always up for the same stuff. Anyway, I ended up finding out that I got it a few days later. Yeah, I was so excited.
Sindy: How did you first get your start in acting?
Jean-Luc Bilodeau: I was probably about eight years old. It was a Tyco remote controlled car commercial. I got to play with the cars at lunch time and the producer comes up to me and asks, "Hey, how do you like the car?" and I think I told him it sucked. I didn't know yet that you weren't supposed to say that kind of thing to the producer. I think the other kids all got a car after that, but I didn't get one. I wonder why...
Sindy: What is it that you like about acting?
Jean-Luc Bilodeau: It's just such a fun job. It's work, but totally fun. It's just a really friendly environment. I'm not going to say it's easy, but it's not that stressful. Acting is the part I like - not auditioning. That's so stressful. Ideally I just like getting steady work on a show.
