WWE wrestling star Chris Benoit, his wife and his 7-year old son were found dead in their Georgia home on Monday. Apparently, Benoit wrestled for almost two decades.

To nobody's surprise, the Portland Trailblazers picked Ohio State big man Greg Oden with the first pick of the NBA Draft. Texas standout Steve Francis, while All-Star Ray Allen was traded from the Sonics to the Celtics for Jeff Green, who was the Celtic's first round pick. The Charlotte Bobcats also traded their first round pick, Brandan Wright for the Golden State Warriors' Jason Richardson.

Wimbledon. Federer easily defeated Juan Martin del Potro 6-2, 7-5, 6-1 on Thursday. The match lasted just 11 minutes, and marked Federer's 50th straight win on grass. On Friday, Federer cruised past Marat Safin 6-1, 6-4, 7-6 (7/4) in the third round. If Federer wins Wimbledon, he will become only the second player in the past 100 years to win the event five straight times.

  • Frank Thomas of the Toronto Blue Jays hit his 500th career home run in a game against the Minnesota Twins on Wednesday. He is only the 21st player in MLB history to reach that milestone.
  • Craig Biggio of the Houston Astros also hit a big milestone by ing the 3,000 hits club on Thursday. Biggio becomes just the 27th player in history to reach 3,000 hits.
  • On Thursday, NHL legend Mark Messier was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame. Messier played 23 seasons in the NHL and won six Stanley Cups - five with the Edmonton Oilers and one with the New York Rangers.
