The next story jumps to Jane in her twenties. Here is the point where another chapter would have been nice, because Jane is now a paranoid girlfriend! How did that happen?! We don't know why, but she is dating smart person! Save yourself!" Then finally after about 15 years of dating jerks, Jane finally gets it right by meeting a guy, who is sooo obviously not about having a doormat-girlfriend. And what does Jane do to mess it up? She buys a book of dating rules! Argh! There is no doubt in my mind, in real life, this awesome guy would have lost patience after the first date. But he doesn't, maybe cause he's clueless too.

Finally our heroine is true to herself, finds her man and the world is well. But I am left wondering why writers feel the need to make their heroine's main plight finding a husband? Helen Fielding did it with Bridget Jones and now Melissa Banks has added to the list of books NOT to read if you are single and happy.
