Brendan MacFarlane’s love of country music dates all the way back to when he was just three years old. His grandmother “peeps” played country crooner Hank Williams’ “I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry” for him while driving him home one day, back in his hometown of Perth, Scotland. Brendan was so affected by the song that his dad bought him the song and he memorized it line for line, and with the help of his dad, realized he could sing it perfectly!

“I noticed he was pitch perfect,” said Brendan’s dad, George, “so I changed the key, and he sang it perfectly again. I played in three or four different keys and he sang in tune every time. I couldn’t believe it.”

Brendan fell in love with many musical styles, and would perform for his family all the time, but he soon wanted to do more. When he was 10 Brendan convinced his dad to let him go and record in a studio, and released his songs as videos on YouTube. Some of his most popular are “I Got A Woman” and “Bring It On Home To Me”.

Steadily working on writing his own songs and developing his sound, Brendan has spent the last few years playing shows around Perthshire, Scotland, and working towards releasing his debut album The Road. Right now, Brendan is focused on touring and bringing his music to North American audiences.

“I’ve sung a lot of different styles of music but I’ve always been more comfortable singing this rootsier stuff, the gospel and bluegrass—a very American style which originally came from Scotland. I’m learning my way around the keyboards, but at heart I’m a singer and guitarist and I really just love playing my music for people. I’m excited about meeting my American fans and touring there as soon as possible.”
