This week on Kidzworld’s recap of “Tampa Auditions,” which aired on June 12, 2012, to discover what you missed.
Tampa Bay t403v
It’s unfortunate to say it, but Tampa Bay was really light on talent this week. The majority of the episode was spent on the funny or the it’s-so-stupid-it’s-funny acts. Only three acts showed enough promise to move on to the next round in Las Vegas.
The Untouchables 1h6g2p
First up was a returning dance group from last season, the Miami All-Stars. Last year, they made it into the top 10, but this year they decided to try something a little different. They returned with a smaller group of only 8 to 13-year-olds and rebranded themselves The Untouchables. Their performance was absolutely spectacular. All of them - even the 8-year-olds - danced with the talent of fully trained adults. The judges were wowed and each dancer earned a well-deserved ticket to Vegas.
American BMX Stunt Team 605y14
The American scooters and inline skates doing crazy tricks on two back-to-back quarter pipes. The tricks were dangerous in that if one person went down, they’d cause a disasterous chain reaction. Luckily there were no broken bones or even bumps and bruises and the guys were all sent to Vegas.
Lindsay Norton 26z23
Lastly, 16-year-old Lindsey Norton performed an acrobatic dance solo that even Howard, who ittedly would rather pull his nails out than go to the ballet, enjoyed. Naturally, she got a ticket to Vegas.
Twiggy the Waterskiing Squirrel 2b2v2o
While these three acts were the only ones to move on to the next round, we couldn’t end this article without paying tribute to Twiggy the Waterskiing Squirrel. If Twiggy hadn’t peed on Nick Cannon’s jacket, perhaps Howard would have been impressed enough to give him the second ‘yes’ he needed to continue on in the competition. Better luck next time, Twiggy!
